·        What was the reason of choosing RheinAhrCampus from so many options which Tbilisi State University gives to its students?
One of the main reasons to attend Hochschule Koblenz, RheinAhrCampus was the variety of courses offered by the university. While all of the subjects I take in Tbilisi State University are either 5 or 10 ECTS, it was interesting for me to experience some of the subjects which are only 2 or 3 ECTS and are taught here. In that way, I could easily take a lot of classes and explore more about the specifics of the courses. One of the most interesting things explored is that at RheinAhrCampus, a lot of courses are not completely depending on the theory taught, but they also provide an opportunity to put theory into the practice. That makes a process of studying way more entertaining and involving. I am thankful for such an amazing experience.

What were the main benefits you gained from spending a semester in    RheinAhrCampus?
The biggest benefit of me studying at RheinAhrCampus was the internship, which has helped me to evaluate the way, German people are orienting on their work. It was an enormous input into my personal and professional development. As I have worked not only with Germans but people from all around the world, I have gained a lot of cultural knowledge and experience, which will enable me to become a competitive force on the international labor market. It has also helped me to understand some of the work at the international office, which I find quite attractive for my career development. Language competence was one of the important aspects as well, just because I have improved my knowledge of German. It is very important for me, as for the person considering continuing further studies abroad.

Is this influence of studying abroad still helping you to lead your life in a better way?
The influence of the mobility program itself has had an enormous impact on me as on the person. It has helped me to become more intelligent and professional in terms of work and study. As I have been working on various topics, it has enlarged my specter of work and my view over some important things. For example, I have understood that in German work culture, it is highly acceptable to be straightforward to get things done. I used to refer more to being polite and trying not to harm anyone’s feelings. Now, I have understood that providing constructive feedback can be easily done if you are straightforward and it won’t be harmful to much of the people in Germany. In general, the influence of the mobility program has helped me to internationalize more than I could ever think.

What are the top 5 things, which you miss from studying abroad?
I will definitely miss the variety of work at RheinAhrCampus, people I have worked with, events conducted by the international office at RheinAhrCampus, sharing my culture and receiving some of the other cultures from my friends and surely I will miss the free transportation around the Cologne area.

What do you think, how studying in RheinAhrCampus will help you in your future career/studies?
First of all, I have learned to be open towards receiving both, positive and negative constructive feedback. As there will always be a person, who will provide the feedback to me, studying at RheinAhrCampus has helped me to understand different perspectives and approaches of dealing with certain things. As I see myself in the sphere of education, studying and working at RheinAhrCampus has definitely increased my chances of getting a great job. This was due to two major reasons: First, I have learned how people in different countries are trying to teach with different techniques and second, I have realized how people in different countries study in order to be more productive. That will definitely contribute to my career in the education sphere.

What are the things which you would change if you had the opportunity?
I would actually leave everything the way it is because I can say that I have enjoyed my exchange semester.

What can you say about the differences between students’ life in Germany and  Georgia?
I can say that the main difference is the quantity of the courses I could take here in Germany and I am usually able to have in Georgia. Most of the courses in Georgia are either 5 or 10 credits and we are only allowed to have 30 ECTS in total. Here, I did not have any restrictions on taking any amount of courses. Mainly courses here are 2 or 3 ECTS, which grants students an amazing chance of experiencing different subjects and topics, which later will definitely be relevant for their further professional life. Also, student life in Germany is a bit more concrete and does not involve any elements, which can be mixed with private life. As most of the subjects in Georgia have a lot of homework, it is sometimes hard to enjoy the free time with friends. In Germany, subjects are mainly dealt in the university and you get more time to hang out with friends.

What recommendations do you have for the students who have a willingness to  study in RheinAhrCampus?
I would advice to everybody to use their chance and apply for the exchange semester at RheinAhrCampus. Being honest, it is one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. It has taught me a lot about the Germany and not only. I have made a lot of friends from all around the world. It has been a pleasure for me to study at the RheinAhrCampus and I will never forget about five amazing months spent here. I would like to thank everybody who has organized my stay here as these people are professionals of their work and to everybody planning to apply, trust me you will enjoy your stay just like I did.
