What was the reason for choosing RheinAhrCampus from so many options which Tbilisi State University gives to its students?
My first reason for choosing RAC was the location of the university. Since childhood, I always wanted to study in Germany. Secondly, this was the only university, which was offering an academic internship. The possibility for students to work in an international environment, acquire new skills and test their abilities in the different culture. While searching information about this university I found out that they are oriented on not only theoretical tasks but also on practical usage of potential.
What were the main benefits you gained from spending a semester in RheinAhrCampus?
I have changed very much as personally, as professionally. I studied how to work out of comfort zone. The most valuable things what I earned is that I became more independent, learned how to survive alone, without friends and family and their help in a different environment. I met so many international students from all over the world and exchanged my knowledge and experience with them, in addition to this I became more aware of different cultures. And finally, for me, one of the most important benefits was that at the end of the semester I was able to have simple conversations in the German language.
Is the influence of studying abroad still helping you to lead your life in a better way?
I am still studying in RAC and I can definitely say it will have a big influence on my life.
What are the top 5 things, which you will miss from studying abroad?
My international friends;
Very interesting and interactive classes;
University and its staff;
Everyday trips in Cologne, Bonn or Koblenz;
Traveling in nearby cities with my flat mate’s car :D
What do you think, how studying in RheinAhrCampus will help you in your future career/studies?
Studying in RAC and at the same time doing the internship here is very useful for my future career and study. Because here I am studying and working in an international environment, I experienced myself in different fields. So now I know how to negotiate with people from a different cultural background, I know how to react in various situations.
What are the things which you would change if you had the possibility?
Travel more in Europe. And this is my plan for February!
What can you say about the differences between students’ life in Germany and Georgia?
Students’ life is very different here and at my home university. In Germany, students have more time after classes to chill out together. Classes are more practical. In my home university, we have to study a lot, especially theoretical tasks and we do not have time to have fun during the week.
What recommendations do you have for the student who has a willingness to study in RheinAhrCampus?
Do not afraid of challenges! Always try to do your best. Be an active student and take part in as many activities as possible. Take the possibility and do an internship in RAC, because it will help you to grow professionally and at the same time personally.
